There are a number of specimens from the Bartram nursery in the 1820s, when it was run by John Bartram’s granddaughter Ann and her husband Robert Carr. 웹North American native plants have been making their way into horticulture and gardens since at least 1783 when Philadelphia’s Bartram nursery published their first “catalog,” a list of 220 trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants they were offering for sale.
